2024-2025 Schedule

Masterclass Dates:

Masterclasses (for students 18 and younger) will be in person, and are listed in the google sheet listed above on the second tab (at the bottom of the sheet). Please be sure to reserve these dates, as they are critical to my teaching program.

Young Artist Music Series (YAMS)

This program is for advanced students who are preparing for competitions and auditions.  Our instructor this year will be (tentatively) ​October 18 2024, and January 31, 2025 in Julie's Studio.  Times will be assigned, and need to be kept for both sessions. 

​The fee is $84 per hour, and checks should be written to Dr. Tanya Stambuk at least one day prior to your session (I will collect them and give them to them in one envelope).

Music Literacy Program (MLP)

This year, MLP (theory test) will be held at the home of Dr. Steve Nehrenberg at 19503 122 Place SE Kent WA. on April 26, 2025​ from 9:00 am - 1:30 pm.  Please arrive no later than 1:00 so that you have time to finish the test.  Fees of $8.00 are due on March 2, 2025, paid to Julie Swienty (only one payment for the entire studio is accepted by the state).

Recitals:

We will have three studio recitals: ​12/14/24, 2/22/25, and 7/12/25. There is also the Honors Recital for students selected by our visiting artist, and another Honors Recital for the winners of the Chapter Honors Competition.  Both are held on March 22, 2025 at Kent First Baptist Church.  Times will be announced in early March, 2025. 

Music Artistry Program (MAP)

All students (18 and younger) will participate in this Washington State Music Teachers program February 28 - March 1 (I will not know the exact dates or location until early February).  Fees are due by December 5th, 2024, paid to Julie Swienty (only one payment for the entire studio is accepted by the state).

Competitions

In Studio: Czerny competitions will be held twice, October 4 2024, and January 17, 2025 in person at Julie's Studio.  There is no fee for this event.

In Chapter: South King County Piano Competition will be held March 8th, 2025 at Kent First Baptist Church. Fees are $45 per entry, due January 5th, 2025, paid to SKCMTA.  Winners of this competition will be featured at WSMTA State Convention after school gets out (June 28-30, 2025 at Lower Columbia College in Longview).
