The interview is a mix of audition and lesson. This varies from an informal chat and a basic sample lesson for beginners, through a full scale performance-audition for those seeking more advanced lessons. This gives us a chance to get to know each other and to discuss future goals, as well as for me to answer any questions you might have.
I currently offer private, one-on-one sessions for piano, music theory, music history and performance classes, which are included in a fixed monthly fee. Lessons are designed around motivational mastery of technique, and take into consideration the national core curriculum standards for music.
Tuition for all classes is based on an fixed monthly fee from September to May, with a annual registration fee, which covers recital costs, tuning and regulation of the studio piano, as well as much of the music that is used during the lesson. Students working on more advanced literature will need to purchase their own original scores. Additional fees for Young Artist Music Series (paid in September), WSMTA's Music Artistry Program (MAP) and competition fees (paid in December), and Musicianship testing (paid in March) will be collected.
If you decide to join my studio, I will be happy to share more details of my studio policy and costs.
